Podiatric Care for the Downriver Michigan Community

Balance Foot & Ankle serves patients from Southgate, Wyandotte, and the broader Downriver Wayne County communities. Our Bloomfield Township office is accessible from the Downriver area via I-75 north to Square Lake Road, and we welcome patients from Southgate, Wyandotte, Trenton, Riverview, and surrounding communities seeking specialty-level podiatric care.

About Southgate and Wyandotte

Southgate is a thriving Downriver community of approximately 29,000, known for its well-maintained neighborhoods, strong business community along Eureka Road, and convenient access to major employment centers throughout Wayne County and Metro Detroit. Wyandotte, neighboring to the north along the Detroit River, is a city of approximately 24,000 with a vibrant downtown historic district, waterfront access, and community events that draw residents year-round.

The active and diverse populations of both communities experience the full range of foot and ankle conditions that benefit from podiatric expertise — from working adults with occupational foot pain to seniors managing diabetic complications to young athletes with sports injuries.

What We Treat

Our board-certified podiatrists provide comprehensive care for plantar fasciitis and heel pain, bunions and hallux valgus correction, hammertoes and digital deformities, ingrown toenails with permanent correction options, fungal nail infections, diabetic foot ulcers and prevention, ankle sprains and ligament injuries, Achilles tendon disorders, flat feet and arch problems, custom orthotic devices, metatarsalgia, Morton’s neuroma, gout, and sports-related injuries.

Diabetic Foot Care for Downriver Patients

The Downriver communities have significant populations managing diabetes and its complications. Our diabetic foot care program provides the comprehensive preventive and therapeutic care that reduces amputation risk and prevents hospitalizations. Annual comprehensive foot exams, neuropathy screening, vascular assessment, and wound care for active ulcers are all part of our diabetic care services. Early intervention for even minor foot wounds in diabetic patients can prevent life-altering complications.

Getting to Our Bloomfield Township Office

From Southgate and Wyandotte, take I-75 north approximately 35–40 miles to Square Lake Road (Exit 83 or 84), then head west. The drive is straightforward and well-signed, with the office located in a medical complex with free parking. Alternatively, M-39 (Southfield Freeway) north to I-696 east to Woodward Avenue provides another convenient route from the Downriver area.

We accept most major insurance plans and welcome new patients. Same-week appointments for acute concerns are frequently available. Contact us to schedule your evaluation and experience the difference that specialized podiatric care makes.
