Management: rigid insole/insole extension under the first MTP, activity modification, and occasionally MRI to grade the plantar plate injury.

Plantar fasciitis: Soccer cleats typically have minimal arch support — they’re designed for ball feel and ground contact, not support. High training volumes in inadequate footwear drive plantar fasciitis in soccer players. Custom orthotics or aftermarket insoles for soccer cleats are available and appropriate for players with persistent plantar fasciitis.
