Common Rock Climbing Foot Injuries

Hallux valgus (bunion) development is accelerated by the narrow, asymmetric toe box of climbing shoes. The great toe is forced into a valgus position against the second toe for hours at a time, stretching the medial capsule and gradually creating the characteristic bony prominence.
