Expert Foot & Ankle Care
From morning stiffness to sharp heel spurs, we provide the expert care you need to walk, hike, and play—without the ache.
In Bloomfield Hills, an active lifestyle isn’t a luxury—it’s a priority. But when a sharp, radiating pain in your toe begins to dictate your movement, it affects more than just your gait; it affects your focus and your results. We recognize that for our patients, an ingrown toenail is a frustrating barrier to the standards you set for your health and performance.
Do you find yourself limping to the coffee pot because your heel feels like it’s stepping on a nail?
Is that tight, burning sensation at the back of your heel making it impossible to enjoy your evening walk?
Does your heel throb with a vengeance the moment you sit down after a busy day at work?
The Reality Check: A heel spur doesn’t “go away” on its own, and a tight Achilles won’t fix itself with just rest. Ignoring posterior heel pain can lead to a sudden tendon tear or chronic mobility issues.
Conveniently located for patients in Howell, Michigan.
Heel spurs and Achilles tendinitis often go hand-in-hand. Over time, constant tension on the tendon causes the bone to respond by growing a “spur.” It’s your body trying to protect itself, but it ends up causing more pain.
An ingrown nail is a mechanical intrusion of the nail plate into the soft periungual tissue. This leads to a foreign-body reaction, causing inflammation and, eventually, pyogenic granuloma (overgrowth of tissue). Our Bloomfield Hills clinic focuses on precise surgical excision and matrixectomy to ensure the underlying cause is addressed at the root.
Think of the back of your heel as the anchor in a high-stakes game of tug-of-war. On one side, you have your heavy calf muscles; on the other, the anchor is your heel bone.
When your muscles are tight or you’re on your feet all day, that "rope" (the Achilles tendon) is constantly pulling on the bone.
To prevent the tendon from pulling away, your body tries to reinforce the area. It sends calcium to the site of the tension to "harden" the connection.
Over time, this calcium builds up into a small, hook-shaped bone called a Heel Spur.
We don’t guess; we test. Using high-resolution digital imaging right here in the office, we can see the exact size and location of your heel spur or tendon damage in minutes.
Our treatments—like custom-molded orthotics and advanced Shockwave Therapy—are designed to work while you keep living. No surgery, no heavy casts, and no missing out on the Howell Sunday Farmers’ Market.
We pride ourselves on being “the gentle podiatrists.” We take the time to explain the “why” behind your pain, ensuring you feel comfortable and confident every step of the way.
“We combine surgical excellence with a focus on cosmetic integrity and functional performance.”
