How we score. Our podiatrists rate every insole 1–5 on Arch support (height & contour), Cushioning, Rigidity (motion control vs. flexibility), Heel cradle (deep cup for alignment & fat-pad protection), and Slim fit (how many shoes it fits into). These are the over-the-counter insoles we most often recommend before moving to custom orthotics — matched to your condition. Not a substitute for a gait exam; a custom orthotic is molded to your foot when an OTC insole isn’t enough.
